YouGov, the professional market research agency, has published its new survey which suggests that around a quarter of staff waste the equivalent of one working day every fortnight by surfing on the Internet.
One in four people surveyed said they wasted 30 percent or more of their Internet time aimlessly flicking from one web page to another, which amounts to one working day every two weeks. With so much information available on the net it seems that employees are getting more and more distracted and the research suggests that while staff may look hard at work at their desk, they could just as likely to be emailing friends, booking holidays or planning their activities for the weekend. |

The research also claims that seven out of ten of the United Kingdom’s 34 million Internet users admit to “Wilfing”at home and at work. (Wilfing stands for “What Was I looking For?”).
