Apprenticeships have been proven to considerably improve business performance with new research.
Learning and Skills Council (LSC) enlisted a survey of businesses that employ apprentices, with results showing that 83% rely on apprenticeship programmes to provide the skilled workers that they need for the future. Addressing the problem of skill shortages, over 65% of those surveyed feel they would struggle to find staff with the skills required without apprenticeship programmes. This highlights the importance of skill building in an organisation, and the results of apprenticeship programmes. Results also show that there is a significant increase in employee standards and recruitment. 88% of businesses said they believed the programme leads to a more satisfied and motivated workforce, with over 75% stating that the programmes help them fill vacancies at a faster rate. With results also showing that businesses agree their programmes make them more competitive, lead to higher productivity and improve staff retention and turnover, apprenticeships are having an important impact on organisations. Rob Marr, Managing Director of t2 business solutions said: “Modern Apprenticeships are becoming an extremely important part of everyday business. Not only do apprenticeships motivate employees and supply them with a recognised qualification, but they are also hitting one of the key problems in training which is skill shortages. “Training current or new employees with the skills required for a current or future role is cost effective for organisations, and should play a larger part in the recruitment role. t2 business solutions is supplying a large number of organisations in Wales with fully funded Modern Apprenticeships, and that number is constantly growing. Businesses are consistently becoming more accustomed to staff training, and apprenticeships are one of the most effective ways to implement this.” |
